Meet Heriberto. He’s 90 years old and has lived in Flagami for over 40 years. His beloved wife has taken ill, and in tending to her health needs, he’s had a tough time maintaining his home…until today.
We started the Abuelos Foundation in order to honor the senior citizens in our community, to lend them a hand when they need it most. We do this in honor of our parents and grandparents, who have sacrificed so much for us, and we do this as an example for our own children, whom we hope will adopt our love for public service; in fact our foundation is tri-generational, so that our parents and children can serve right alongside us. Today we fulfilled one abuelo’s wishes. It’s an honor to live, work, play and volunteer in this community.
